This Privacy Policy describes how KineticMetrix ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit kineticmetrix.com (the "Site"). Please read it carefully.

1. Information We Collect

Information you enter into calculators

When you use our calculators, you enter health-related data (such as weight, height, age, and activity level). This information is not stored, logged, or transmitted to us. It is sent to our API server solely to compute your result and is not retained after the response is returned to your browser. We do not create user accounts and have no way to identify individual users from calculator inputs.

Automatically collected data

Like most websites, we receive certain information automatically when you visit:

  • Log data: Your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps may be recorded in standard server logs. These logs are used for security and operational monitoring and are retained for up to 30 days.
  • Cookies: See Section 3 below.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect names, email addresses, postal addresses, phone numbers, or payment information. We do not create user accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate and maintain the Site
  • Serve relevant advertisements in the future (not currently active)
  • Monitor and improve site performance and security
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We use cookies for the following purposes:

Cookie typePurposeSet by
FunctionalCookie consent preference storageKineticMetrix (localStorage)

We currently do not set any advertising or analytics cookies. If this changes in the future (e.g., when display advertising is activated), this policy will be updated and a consent banner with granular options will be presented before any such cookies are set.

You can clear your stored preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.

4. Third-Party Services

Google AdSense

This Site is configured for Google AdSense, but the advertising service is not currently active — no advertising cookies are set at this time. The site implements Google Consent Mode v2 with all consent signals defaulting to "denied" until you explicitly choose otherwise via the cookie consent banner. When AdSense is activated:

  • Personalised advertising will only be served if you click "Accept" in the consent banner.
  • If you click "Decline", no AdSense scripts will be loaded.
  • Returning visitors are remembered via local storage (key: km_cookie_consent).
  • You can revoke your choice anytime by clearing your browser's local storage.
  • Google's own privacy controls remain available at Google Ads Settings.

Amazon Associates

Some pages contain affiliate links to Amazon. When you click these links, Amazon may set cookies to track referrals. Amazon's privacy practices are governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice.

5. Your Rights

European Economic Area (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to restrict processing: Request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.
  • Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent for cookie-based processing at any time.

Our legal basis for processing is: (a) legitimate interests (for server log security monitoring). If advertising or analytics cookies are activated in the future, the legal basis will be consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).

California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and whether it is sold or disclosed, and to request deletion of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at the address below.

International Data Transfers

When third-party services are activated (such as Google AdSense), personal data may be transferred to servers outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Such transfers are safeguarded by Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Currently, no third-party advertising or analytics services are active on this site.

Supervisory Authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is:

Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg (LfDI BW)
Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany
Website: www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de

6. Data Retention

Server log files are retained for up to 30 days for security purposes. Calculator inputs are not stored at all — they are discarded after the API returns your result. Cookie consent preferences are stored in your browser's local storage until you clear them.

7. Security

We use HTTPS (enforced via Let's Encrypt TLS certificates) to encrypt all data in transit between your browser and our servers. Our API server does not log calculator inputs. We apply standard server hardening practices to our infrastructure.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted prominently on the Site.
